Frequently Asked Questions about Computer/Laptop/Networking Repairs

  What are your rates?

Basic rate is R400/hr plus traveling time and spare parts if applicable. Most of my onsite repairs are within 30km of the Cape Town CBD.

  Why are your rates lower than many?

I work only by appointment. I do not have a shop front. I do not pay franchise or booking fees. I do not have employees. My overheads are low and the service is personal. If you want to save more money you can bring the computer/laptop to me in Royal Ascot.

  Do you have price caps to prevent run away repair bills?

Yes I do. I believe that you should not have to pay for more than two hours for any single repair issue. Most single issue computer repairs can be done for between R400 – R800 (plus parts and travel time if any).

  Do you repair laptops?

Yes I do. It is important to correctly diagnose where the problem lies. Older laptops are often not worth repairing as you can buy a new laptop for under R4,000. I will advise you on this as part of the diagnosis.

  What sort of warranty do you give?

All parts have a minimum of 12 months. All my repairs three months. Because I do the repair properly and use only high quality parts I rarely if ever need to return to do a warranty repair.

  Can you setup or fix my network/wireless/ broadband etc?

Yes and its charged at the same rate. I can fix difficult problems in your home or business network. I can make sure your wireless networking is secure.

  Can you advise me and/or sell me computer equipment?

I can do both. You do not need to buy from me and in many cases I will refer you to a stand out special elsewhere. I do sell a lot of pre- built systems and LCD monitors. All come with a minimum 12 month 3rd party onsite warranty.

  Do you do ADSL installations?

Yes I do. I provide a professional ADSL installation service and assist with purchase of a router that will suit your needs. I provide after sale service for any changes needed.
